We are Todd and Kristi Drake, our adventure began with a dream of becoming a ranch family. Owning land and cattle in our minds represents freedom, opportunity and a place to raise our kids in southwest Iowa.

Along the way, we’ve added many businesses but built a mission - all focused on helping other cattlemen capture opportunity. Fellow ranchers, business colleagues and friends are the ones who motivated us to change the way beef is sold.

Just as Napa Valley is to wine, we believe the heartland is the home to beef, full of family and owned and operated feedlots, ranches and farms.

Families sell their beef to a commodity marketing machine that has little trust with the consumer. We wanted to solve this problem by making the world’s first “cut out the middleman” beef experience store, along with online sales.

Our mission is to bring premium beef to your table.

Fire & Salt Co. comes from the idea that great steaks bring families and friends together. From this idea came the concept of the “Ultimate Beef Experience.”

We work diligently to have the store filled with unique products that enhance the steak eating experience.

In the historic tiny town of Corning, Iowa, Fire and Salt Co. is nestled amongst the one main street. You’re immersed inside what used to be a bank, you’re incapsulated into the Ultimate Beef Experience.

Once you’ve ventured through the store full of signature wines, whiskeys, bourbons and beef you surely won’t leave empty-handed.

The heart of the store is locally raised beef.

It’s our mission to have a friendly place to go and buy a fancy restaurant quality steak that is surrounded by everything you can think of to enhance the customers’ eating experience.

We believe in leaving the beef industry better than we found it. It’s a cattleman-owned business operated by dedicated men and women who serve those who work hard to feed our country.
